Build your answer library

Write and approve your standard answers to customers' security questions, per language, backed by policies and evidence.

In this section: Customers and trust

Customers keep asking the same security questions. The answer library in Answers lets you write your answer to each question once, check it and approve it, so the same approved wording is ready every time. Only approved answers will be used in questionnaires and on your trust page.

The questions come from the controls of your package in the control library: the starter set, the supplier set or the full library. Each language has its own answers.

How to write and approve an answer

  1. In your organization, open Answers in the menu.
  2. Choose the Language at the top. The summary shows how many answers are approved and how many are drafts.
  3. Find a question with Search answers, then click Write answer (or Edit for an existing one).
  4. Write Our answer in plain words.
  5. Choose the Policy that backs it up and tick the Evidence that backs it up. Evidence must be added in Evidence first.
  6. Click Save draft to finish later, or Approve when the answer is correct. A person always approves an answer; nothing is approved on its own.

How to keep answers up to date

  • Changing the text of an approved answer makes it a draft again, so it has to be approved again before it is used.
  • Answer in every language your customers use: switch the Language and repeat the steps.
  • Review your answers when a control, policy or piece of evidence changes.

Tips

  • Keep answers short and factual; describe what you really do today.
  • Link evidence that shows the answer is true, such as a certificate or a procedure.
  • Owners and admins, and roles allowed to edit controls, can write and approve answers; members can read them.
  • The answer library is part of every package. A larger package brings more questions, because it includes more of the control library.

An answer in another language can be filled with Translate from …; check the translation before you save it.
